Honestly its a boss encounter, its the same with the Hags Cauldron, you have to assume it has something significant to do with the fight. Once you learn that, the boss is pretty easy. He hit every one of my party members with enraged destruction for seven or more twice in a row, and it didnt help my healer was paranoid refusing to use her aoe healing. Mark with Arb, and hack it down with bounty, mine has Melee crits and damage locked in so. Youre meant to wipe horribly the first time you encounter the Swine Prince, just because theres no in-game way to know youre not supposed to kill Wilbur first. It must be really rare for it to happen, well I really tried to finish him ASAP and not to mention I tried stunning Wilbur with PD (no damage stuns and counter attacks don't trigger) Like. Just go all out on the boss and heal when needed. So while yes the Swine prince will target the marked people it isn't 100% always going to target them but still 95% of the time he will target the ones Wilbur marks. The swine prince will start aoe stunning and damaging your whole party every round if you do. In my last fight my back 2 peeps ( a HM and a PD) were marked but the Swine Prince instead attacked my front 2 peeps ( a BH and a Helion). In actuality? Not so much as I have had cases where Wilbur will mark 2 people but then the Swine Prince will attack 2 completly different people who were not marked at all. Canonically yes I agree that Wilbur is directing the Swine Prince on who to attack.
